Be Kind to Each Other.

Today’s post will be short and sweet. I’m not sure if you’ve seen or heard about this story, but it broke my heart. His twin sister is teased in school. He selflessly asks Santa to make his sister happy in exchange for his Christmas wish list. How many of you would do that?

My challenge for the day is to be kind to each other. Have gratitude. Show appreciation. Be nice. Pay a compliment. Practice Aloha. Please. Do it for this little girl. Do it for all the kids who are teased everyday, those who feel like they aren’t good enough, the ones who struggle with being different, those shunned from society, discriminated against, hated. Do it for yourself.

Primal-Friendly Meals: Spinach and Feta Turkey Burgers

Hello, hello and welcome to the work week! I apologize for my hiatus, but I have been dealing with a lot of things, mainly how to handle stress and juggle about a million tasks at once. I know, welcome to life – no need to complain because I am preaching to the choir. I also just picked up a second job, but I’ll get to that in another post. ANYWAY, what follows is a recipe I created after salivating over the fanciness of Whole Foods.027 (more…)

The Blaze in Seaside Heights, NJ

There are not enough words to express the devastation and sense of loss I feel watching the Seaside Heights Boardwalk burn. Less than one year ago, the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy left destruction and sadness. We banded together to be stronger than the storm and had a wonderful summer reliving old and making new memories on the restored boardwalk. Now, the flames destroyed a large part of the boardwalk, ruined more than 20 businesses, and took out Funtown Pier. How will we come back from this? Can we rebuild? I hope so. For now, please send love and prayers to the residents and business owners of Seaside Heights. Thank you, first responders, for trying to save and ultimately containing the blaze. 004 005 003 1240372_10151564104520846_1225329717_n015 016 023 024 025 026 027 028 029 030 031 IMG_0348

In the mood for some yummy Chinese food but want to avoid the next day MSG/salt/carb hangover? (Don’t act like you don’t know what I mean.) Try some Paleo orange chicken for dinner or, better yet, lunch! It travels well and tastes great microwaved! 100_0858 (more…)

Paleo-Friendly Meals: Pork Meatballs

Happy Monday and more importantly happy Labor Day! To those of you who have to work, I’m sorry. I had those jobs before and frankly, it sucks. Even though I am just hanging around the house today, I am keeping busy by flexing my domestic goddess muscles and prepping lunches for the rest of the week. I usually scour the interwebs to find my next Paleo lunch idea and the following image always inspires awe.
